About Us

Rice University Science Bowl (RUSB) is a student-run organization that is dedicated to promoting a passion for STEM education in middle and high school students via the National Science Bowl (NSB) competition.

RUSB fosters STEM interest through 2 primary initiatives:

1. Hosting Rice University’s first ever invitational Science Bowl competition for teams across the nation

2. Supporting local middle and high schools through hands-on STEM outreach and volunteering

National Science Bowl (NSB) is a fast-paced team buzzer competition that tests middle and high school students in 6 STEM subjects:

  • Biology

  • Chemistry

  • Physics

  • Math

  • Energy

  • Earth & space science
